Dear Juno,
I am currently a senior at Foothill Technology High School. Recently in my Government and Economic class we watch your movie where you had to make the toughest decision of your life. To keep your child, abort it, or give it up for adoption. I personally love the fact that you made the choice to give the baby up for adoption. I believe that was very smart of you to do that since you are still in high school and very young. I also love that fact that you weighed out all your options. You went to get an abortion in the first place until you found out the baby had finger nails. If you had the abortion I still would have supported you. Like the 14th amendment states it’s your right to choose what to do with your child. Unfortunately I don’t think I could have done that myself even though my parents would kill me if I were to get pregnant at such a young age. I also love the fact how supported your parents were during this whole process, if it was me my parents would disown me. Unfortunately I do however believe it was very stupid of you and Bleeker to have sex in the first place. Ever since fifth grade our teacher has been teaching us the same stuff over and over again about safe sex. You know what condoms and birth control are, both forms of birth control are easy to get ahold of, there was no reason to have un-protective sex, especially since you decided to have sex when you were bored. There are lots of things that you could have done rather than having sex, for example at the end of the movie both you and Bleeker were playing the guitar, you could have done that or watched an insane gory movie like you had done with the soon to be father of your child. Again I give praise to you for raising that baby for nine months. I could only imagine how tough that would have been for you. To raise that baby then have to give it up must have been terrible. But this could have all been easily avoided in the first place.
Sincerely,
Alicia M.
